
Taryn Torre M.D., M.B.A.
Taryn G. Torre received her undergraduate degree in psychology at William and Mary College in 1985. Her love for children and a desire to help the community led her to an initial career working with emotionally disturbed children at a residential treatment facility in Roanoke, Virginia. She later decided to enter into medicine and completed her medical school training at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1990. She attended Johns Hopkins Hospital residency program in Radiation Oncology completing her degree in 1998. She was appointed and served as Chief Resident from 1997 - 1998.
Dr. Torre’s first faculty appointment was as a Clinical Professor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She remained a faculty member from 1998 – 2001 during which time she participated in prostate cancer research, contributing to the foundation of the current brachytherapy literature. Wanting to return to her home state of Virginia, she moved to Richmond with her family where she continues to practice Radiation Oncology today. In 2006, she also received her masters in business administration from VCU’s executive MBA program.
Dr. Torre is a board certified Radiation Oncologist with a special interest in prostate cancer. She is certified in Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Mammosite partial breast radiation and prostate brachytherapy. She is a dedicated, caring physician who prides herself in empowering her patient’s with knowledge so that they have a clear understanding of the cancer treatment options available to them.
